Neither power window works when you try to lower the windows, the electric motors operate but the windows dont move, sounds like they are bound up. Dont under stand why they would both do this all of a sudden. Is there some sort of safety lock somewhere?

I have a Dodge dakota, that this week did the same thing. Here is what I found.

The glass is "glued" or epoxied to two window clamps at the bottom of the window. The glue lost its hold on the window and the window regulator and motor are moving as they should. If you want to verify here is what you do. First, use the power window switch to lower the window. The window stay in place at the top. With door open and one hand on each side of the glass, pull down. The glass will suddenly come loose and want to fall into the door. Dont let it fall (no real problem, just dont want to mistakenly damage anything or break the glass. Next push it back up and lodge it into the top of the door again. Then remove inner door panel and confirm through cutaway on inner door that the glass holder clamps are on the bottom of the door still attached to the regulator arm. Now you are in my position. Try to find out what is used to glue the windows to that track. This forum appears useless to tell me that. :)
