1997 Chrysler Sebring 6 cyl Automatic

It feels like its missing at times, it dies on me sometimes while Im driving. We have a thing in Tn were you have to take your car thru Marter before you can get your tag. My car did not pass, the codes that did not pass were Heated02 02, Cat, egr Evap. They said I had an incomplete Drive Cycle. And im not sure if that is the reason the car feels like its missing sometimes. I called the Chrysler dealer & told them about what Marter said, & he said to drive the car 30 to 40 miles then shut the car off & let it rest, & to do that 3times. Have not done that yet. Please advise as what to do.

You were told what to do. You didn't do it. Now you want to know what to do?

Your engine computer will run self tests on the emissions system when specific conditions are met. Those conditions are met during a "drive cycle" and involve such things as engine temperature, throttle off idle for a certain period of time, coasting for a specific length of time without touching the brake or gas pedals, cruising at a steady speed for a certain length of time, etc. These self tests have nothing to do with a misfire. That's a separate issue that must be fixed before the self tests will pass.
