1996 Chrysler Sebring Gasoline Smell Inside and outside of

From time to time there will be a really strong odor of gasoline inside and outside of the car. My check engine light is currently on, and has been for 2 weeks. The transmission was rebuilt just 1 week ago, and the computer gave a code to replace the EGR (check engine light).

Exactly what code was it? They dont necessarily mean replace the EGR, just that there is a problem in that system. Look around the fuel rail for gas leaks or at the fuel lines where they connect to the engine at the rear of the fuel rail. Might have a bad o'ring

That usually means the solenoid that controls the EGR valve is bad
