2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser What is a PCM?

On a recent trip or cars engine started to shake really bad and we experienced power loss. We took the care to Autozone and the told us it was the ignition cail so we repalced it.A few days went by just fine and it started agian so we went back to Autozone and they said to replace the spark plugs and wires. It is still having the same problem. So I need to know what is a PCM and will replacing this part fix my problem? Thank you

A pcm is a Chrysler term for "computer."

A pcm is a powertrain control module it controls most of the electrical operations of the powertrain.
