Brought the car to shop when Check engine light came on.....shop said trans fluid line was corroded and was hardly any fluid, so they replaced line, flushed and filled with new fluid. Check engine still on......shop says all maintenance codes have been addressed but the "computer" seems corrupted so I have to take it to dealer since only they can remove the corrupt status. Car runs fine.

Does this sound right? I do not want to enter a dealer shop only to get another large bill for something obvious. Would the light re-set on its own?
