Brakes problem
1993 Chrysler 5th Avenue Automatic

We just replaced the brakes and drums and now when you put the car in drive and move forward or reverse it makes a loud whining sound. Could we have done something wrong when replacing the brakes? The noise was not there before doing the brakes. Thank-you

Wheel bearings may be damaged! Remove and check for flaking, if found install new bearings and races, then install like this:
Installation 1. To install, reverse removal procedure. Seat new races into drum or hub. Pack bearings using multi-purpose grease. Install inner bearing and new seal. 2. Clean and inspect spindle. Apply a thin coat of wheel bearing grease to polished surfaces. Install drum or hub on spindle. Install outer bearing, washer and adjusting nut. 3. Tighten adjusting nut to 20-25 ft. Lbs. (27-34 N.M). Back off adjusting nut 1/4 turn. Finger tighten adjusting nut. Position nut lock with slots in line with cotter pin hole on spindle. Install cotter pin, grease cap and wheel. NOTE: DO NOT reuse old grease seals.
