2006 Chrysler 300 LOUD NOISE COMING FROM STEERING COLUMN ON

The car makes a loud intermitent noise coming from the steering column for about 10 seconds, only when the car is started, then it disappears and the car drives normal and everything works well.
If I turn off the car and turn it on again it will do it again!

You'll have to describe the noise before I can answer the question.

And does it only make this noise when you turn the wheel, or not? Can you be absolutely sure it's coming from the steering wheel and not the dash or instrument cluster?
