I have a Chrysler 300 Touring and my engine light is staying on with the code p0406 EGR Position Sensor Circuit High. I have had a recent tune up with the plugs and coils being replaced but it has not helped. I would like to know how much it would cost if a dealrer fixes this issue including parts and labor? Can I do this myself or can I have a side competent mechanic do it for me for less?

You need to replace the EGR valve on the back of the cylinder head, this can be tricky so get a mechanic to do this, you will not have to go to a dealer a competent mechanic can do this work.

Thank you, so how much can I expect to pay for a repair job like this at a competent mechanic?

The valve is about $90. And allow around 1.5 Hrs labour, check local labour rates for this cost.
