I need to know how to fix my van, It does not turn on without being jumped we have already fixed the spark plugs and wires and I am told I need an ignition coil but that there are 3 and at auto zone they only gave me one. Will fixing the ignition coil fix the shaking and the fact that I need to jump the vehicle after stopping somewhere, and is there really 3 ignition coils?

YES. There are three ignition coils, 2 wires on each coil to 2 spark plugs. The jumping part I don't think is going to be fixed by replacing ignition coils. Unless you are trying to crank the vehicle and are killing the battery. The ignition coils are located, facing the engine, on the left side or passengers side in the back along the top. They are black and obviously. You can trace a plug wire to the coil. ALSO.I know this sounds stupid. But OEM parts DO MATTER on some GMC vehicles. So that means ACDelco/Delphi parts. They cost more. But sometimes getting those parts does make a difference.

Have the battery and alternator checked. Replace all 3 coils packs
