I was recently told that I have a small intake valve leak. I never noticed anything leaking before but I noticed right after I brought my car home from the repair shop a small puddle of antifreeze on the ground. I am going out of town (two hr drive) this weekend and was wondering if this was an emergency or if I will be able to make my trip. Im unsure of the complications of an intake valve leak since my car shows no signs that something is wrong

An intake valve leaking, I am not sure an intake valve will cause, antifreeze to leak on the ground, the intake valve allows air to enter the combustion chamber, inside the engine, only a head gasket may allow antifreeze to leak into the combustion chamber, and even then it gets burned up causing alot of white smoke to come out of the exhaust, I think maybe a coolant hose is leaking or something, are you mistaken as to what is leaking?

I think they mean an intake manifold gasket. And yes that can cause a leak and puddle. My advise when doing an IMG repair. Get a quote for the difference if they go ahead and do the head gasket. The labor is basically DONE. And it is a COMMON problem on the vans. So if it has never been done. DON'T PAY FOR LABOR TWICE!
