2002 Chevy Venture Estimated cost for thermostat repair

I don't believe it's the heater core. Engine temp fluctuates as if thermostat is failing.

Shouldn't be that much. No MORE than an hour to replace a thermostat. The thermostat is going to cost you about 22 bucks from GMC and an hour time is around 120 bucks.150-200 TOPS. Alas.I feel however you are going to run into the failing head gasket problem based on your brief description. Dancing temperature needle is CLASSIC symptom of it.
