97 venture, did rear intake gasket, after I put everything back together:

1. I put it in drive it feels held back like brakes might be applied
2. I put tranny into drive I feel a slight grinding on the pedal but not when I throw into reverse.
3. Whining noise as well, but thats been like that for awhile. Also when I start engine, it feels like something starts to turn and catches 2 seconds after engine starts. Could this be torque conv problem? I have codes p0507, and p0140 (which by the way I changed today!)

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak causing the high idle and unmetered air into the motor. Check all vacuum lines and the area where you installed the intake gasket. The leak doesn't have to be too big to cause major problems.

P0507 Idle RPM High ( Idle Air Control responding)

p0140 HO2S Insufficient Activity - Sensor 2

Check your engine mounts, they may be worn out.

With a helper, put on parking brake, block the tires front and rear, raise the hood to watch the engine. With the brakes applied put the transmission in drive and apply the throttle a little bit and then do the same in reverse. The motor should not torque more than an inch total.
