1998 Chevrolet Tracker turns off when decelerating!

Hello.

I have a 1998 Chevrolet Tracker.

My problem is this: Whenever I accelerate real fast, the car makes a sound like it's struggling (similar to manual transmission cars when one doesn't shift to the next gear), and on the next full stop (to a street light or stop sign), it turns off!
As I'm slowing down to the full stop, and the KMHs decrease to 0, the RPMs also go down to 0, when they should stay at 1,000 RPM (I think).
Since I don't know much about cars, I asked around and was told that it may have to do with the engine timing or the fuel injection system.

Any ideas?

Thank you for your time,
José Martínez

Hello,

Me again.

More information: My car turns off always at full stop after highway driving, and some times on city driving.
I think it has to do with my accelerating too fast, like when passing a car on a city street.

But always when stopping after highway driving (over 60-70 kmh) to my job.

Thank you for your time,
José
