1997 Chevy Truck Engine Hesitates

I have a 97 chevrolet 1500. I just got the heads referbished on it, but now I have another problem. Every time I get it started it idles fine but when I hamer down on the gas padle it has a hesitation. It doesnt want to get up and go. I replaced the destributer cap and roter and that didnt help at all. Also the exaust pipes get really hot too. I mean they get hot but not like this. Usually everytime I get it started moisture would come out of it but now theres nothing. Do u have any ideas?

Jerking, stumbling and hesistating could be caused by the following:

Oxygen sensor
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
