Engine cranks but will not start, intrument panel is not lighting up when it does not start. If you try to start it a few times sometimes the panel will light up and the engine will start. Could this be caused by a faulty igniton switch?

The next time the IPC does not illuminate with the key on, try wiggling the key in and out and back and forth a little. Sometimes a bad contact will show up by doing this. If you can get the lights to illuminate by manipulating the key/cylinder then the switch is faulty. If this test is inconclusive it still could be a switch, do you have any test equipment or repair skills? If you want more info just reply.
