1995 Chevy Truck Noise after Distibutor was replaced

I had to replace the distributor on my 95 Chev 30 vortex. Kept missing the mark. Took it into the mechanic who finally got iut back in and running. Once he got it running though, he said it sounds like a bent rod or something. I need some help as I sure didn't expect this just to do a tuneup on it to begin with. Help?

Do you remember why the distributor was bad? And have you had any major engine repairs done, why and what happened to cause the first one to fail, the oil pressure needs to be checked, ok thats quite a few miles for that truck, are they original miles?
