1994 Chevy Z71 4WD 5.7 L. I had been experiencing a small leak in my radiator. I have pretty much fixed but it still leads a little. The truck is not running hot (per the gauge which is working but twice now it has completely stopped running while I was driving. The Battery light and the Check Gages light came on. The truck acted like the battery was dead when I tried to crank it but then it would finally crank and run fine the rest of the way home. Next day it would again shut down. My question is does this sound like an alternator problem or could it be related to the radiator leak. The engine doesn't apprear to be overheating but is losing some water.

The alternator can be tested at most auto part stores but also check to see there maybe be dead cell in battery!

The auto part store can check battery and alternator while still on the truck!
