1992 Chevy Truck Engine Size unknown Four Wheel Drive Automatic 260000 miles

The speedometer on my 1992 chev Truck jumps consistently. I checked to see if it was a bad ground, but it made no difference. It jumps up and down according to the heat adjustments as well from low-med-high.
The biggest issue is that it jumps while idiling and while driving it does not show correctly.
I'm not sure what it could be, any ideas?

Thanks

Hello, Im not sure what you mean by "It jumps up and down according to the heat adjustments as well from low-med-high." There is a buffer incorperated into the speedometer to keep it from doing things like this, I believe it is part of the cluster itself. I think your best bet would be to replace the IP cluster with one from a wrecked vehicle.
GOOD LUCK,
Billbob

Hey Charger girl my 1992 chevy truck speedo jumps also, mine has done this for quite awhile but only when I would engage the cruise control, now it does it when ever I am taking off from a stop.I will let you know if I get a fix for it.
