1981 Chevy Truck V8 Two Wheel Drive Manual

My truck makes a popping noise(almost like a back fire) when I start to accelerate. I have changed the spark plugs, cap, rotar, wires, air filter, fill filter, it has 16 new lifters and a new cam. Can you please help!

The popping sound may be an inlet valve not opening. If you didn't install the cam correctly, meaning by not lubing it beforehand and the lifters then not adjusting the lifters correctly then that may be your problem. Pull your valve covers off and recheck your rocker arms and if you find any that are loose that will probably be your valve that needs adjusting. Then start your engine and LOOK at all the rocker arms to make sure they are all oving up and down.
