2oo2 Chevy Trailblazer

My trailblazer is doing the same thing. It's not idling fast; however when I press on the gas to go, it revs up to about 2,000 to 2,500 rpm and I have to back off the gas to get it to shift into gear. Mine is also losing alot of gas quickly. Is yours doing the same? Have you figured out what may be the issue. Also, my service engine soon light came on.

As for the idle/Rev issue I am not sure.
However the engine light coming on may be due to a small EVAP Leak. The code is P1044 or something like that. The fuel tank leaks at the filler neck and the tank where it connects. It costs $1078.00 CDN for a new tank. However good news it is usually under warranty. Have it scanned and post the code on here for it to be answered.
