The car was running fine, but the water pump just started to leak. So I replaced the water pump, belts, hoses and the T-stat.
Fired it up and it over heats. So I got a different t-stat. Still over heats.----Put the old t-stat back in (I know, that was reaching) still over heats.

One symptom. It overheats, but no heat from the vents.

I want to try back flushing the cooling system, but I don't know how.

Back flushing the system is just reversing the normal flow of the coolant. Rather than flushing from the upper hose into the engine, do it from the lower. Also, you mentioned you are getting no heat. Did you bleed the system of air?

I did not bleed the system. How do I go about doing that?

There should be a bleeder on or near the t-stat housing. You may have an air block.
