My truck recently turned off when I went to back up and seems to be idling to low. The battery charge needle sometimes drops then returns to normal when truck feels like its about to cut off. It drives fine and this problem only happens at traffic light or when I slow down to go to park the vehicle

Try cleaning the throttle body and idle air control valve. A tooth brush and some throttle body cleaner helps remove the carbon build up and will hopefullly bring your idle back to spec.
