1995 Chevy Tahoe performance programmers

Hello I have a 1995 chevy tahoe ls and I am wanting to put a performance programmer or chip into it. Can you tell me if this is possible for this year and model and where I can find the parts. I have looked at numerous places and there is little to no info on 1995 tahoes and it seems that performance parts begin in 1996. Also I see that my VIN number determines alot of the parts needed and if my vin number is for a 1995 late model or a 1996 model that came out in 95

95/96 was the transition year for OBD-2. A 95 can have a TBI (8th vin K) or CPI (8th vin R). Check the door sticker for the exact production date, usually anything after 9 of the model year is the next year, 9/95 is usually a 96. The 10th digit of the vin dictates the year as well. Personally I have seen a ton of driveability problems from programmers and chips. In my opinion you are better off to do some exhaust work, fresh air intake and drive it.

Hello and thank you for the help. I currently have a flowmaster dual exhaust and I was wondering what else I can do and I am looking into putting an air intake on it but I dont know which one is the best or you would recommend. Any tips would be great.

Honestly they are all about the same, be sure it is legal for your state. The only thing I dont like about the fresh air kits is that the oil from the filters coats the MAF sensor and effects its performance
