2003 Suburban - Oil question

My 2003 Z71 suburban has 71000 miles. Would you recommend switching to synthetic oil?

If so which type and any precautions?

Synthetic oil is great, longer life, better lube. But it mostly boils down to what your owners manual says. If it says you can use it then yes I reccomend. But if not then I would not, I belive with your year you would be ok.

I quickly looked at the manual and it just says to look for the "star burst". The one that says it is approved by the something auto group.

Then you shoudl be good to go with synthetic.
