Engine problem
1999 Chevy Suburban V8 Two Wheel Drive 121000 miles

The Service Engine Soon light illuminated and I had the fault codes downloaded. The code was for the #2 cylinder misfire. I reset the code and pulled, cleaned and regapped the #2 plug. The light came on again. It seems to occur only when the engine is under a heavy load (pulling RV uphill). Given that the condition seems to occur only under a load, what would you suggest on the correction sequence?

I suggest first doing a compression test, if that is good swich all the #2 components with a different cylinder (wires, and plug) if the missfire changes to that other one and goes away on #2 you know what to change. Check the dist cap for carbon build up.
