1997 Chevy Suburban only fires when key's released

Only does it COLD! You can crank all day - nothing - 'till you release the key - then vrroom! Been getting worse, fires when key's released but may not "catch" until many attempts. All is fine/normal until sitting overnight or all day. Ignition module? Other ideas?

Hi:

It doesn't sound like an ignition module, but rather more like the ignition switch itself. Is the check engine light on?

UPDATE;This AM I tried a 1 sec. Blast of ether in the PCV tube hole - it fired right off! (Fuel prob.).
