Have you hit any curbs lately? My Chevy blazer does this when I crank the wheel too hard or perform tight u-turns. Simply big trucks are not meant to turn so tight, and things start to creak and break. If you hit a curb the wheels on the right side might be out of alignment and its putting stress on the steering arm. I had to replace the lower control arm on both sides for letting my go for too long. In total about $250 and 2 days worth of labor.

Thats something to hope for, check your joints and make sure they got enough grease. I remembered one of mine was completely dry, leading to a cracked ball joint on the steering arm.
