My wife drives our chevy silverado pickup, a few days ago she noticed difficulty turning the steering wheel to the left. This seems to be intermittent. It feels like we have power steering when turning to the right, but not intermittently to the left, which has me a bit miffed. I checked the fluid level and it appears to be fine. It seems as though if this were a true steering issue I should notice it on both sides, but not being a mechanic I honestly dont know.

Sounds like the steering gear has a problem. Did someone try to adjust the str box? If so they may have over adjusted. Check all FE parts and if this is 4 whl drive, check the ft cv joints for binding.

I am not sure, she did have the transmission rebuilt while I was deployed, but I just got back and am not sure what else may have been done.

Have the alignment checked, could be a caster problem. By the way you said you were deployed. I am a retired Army guy, served 22 yrs. Thank you for serving our country. Jerry E.
