2003 Chevy Silverado check engine light on

I have an 03 silverado. the check engine light is on. I was told of a evap leak when it went in for another problem found hose that was crimped off by dealer. This hose runs to a sensor of some sort on top of the motor, this has a plug with 2 wires out of it. I need to know what this sensor is so that i can replace it to pass NYS inspection. Thanks

It's the evap purge solenoid.
