What are your Pros and Cons on switching from 10w30 to 20w50 in my Silverado.

With the miles you have done, there should be no reason not to switch to a slightly heaver oil, it will help with any oil consumption problems that you may be having, you will still get plenty of protection and you will also get a slight improvement in oil pressure.

You might try 10W40 first, it's better in case the weather gets cold all of a sudden, flows better when cold, you didn't say if the engine was leaking the oil or burning it (blue smoke from tailpipe).
