I'm wanting to check my gear lash and I'm looking to confirm a reading of 0.006 to 0.010.

Sorry for the intrusion but I needed the $0.25 cents, I worked at the Chevy dealership for many years doing most of the rear end work, when resetting up rear ends the factory wanted me to do them to 0.000 in. That is correct, no backlash, when the gears are new, if they are used then you are correct 0.005-0.007 in. When setting up the gears keep in mind that paper is 0.003 in. And don't get confused the backlash in the spider gears
