Suddenly my engine only cranks w/o starting. I can release the key, push the gas pedal once, turn the key to start and then the engine starts as usual. Is this a TPS problem or what?

Ha the check engine light come on? If not, it sounds more like a fuel pressure problem. Let me know about the light.

No check engine light. I replaced the fuel filter, which was clogged, but not stopped up completely. This made no difference in the problem. Ran a can of Seafoam through the fuel system. No difference.

I do have a fuel pressure tester. Guess I should try that to eliminate pressure problem.

If you have the tester, most likely you know how to use it. Here is a how to video if you need help.

Let me know what you find. Also, pay attention to how quickly the pressure bleeds off.

I have this same problem, and the pressure bleeds off really fast when I turn the motor off. Is this the pressure regulator? I have changed the pump and filter.

When checking the pressure, pinch off the rubber hose to determine if the loss if at the injectors or before the fuel rail.

Which hose should I pinch off? The top or the bottom one? And should I let the engine run while I do this?
