My scanner says that the Bank 2 sensor 1 is malfunctioning. My question is which is Bank 1 or 2 and is it the upstream (before cat) or down stream (after cat) sensor? The Haynes Book doesnt give a clear understanding of the Bank Locatiions.

Bank one is where the number one cylinder is. Upstream is b4 cat. I need to know what engine you have! 3.4 and 3.0 it's on drivers side, 2.5 on passenger side 4.3 drivers side.

Merlin,

I'm sorry I forgot to place the engine size. It is a 4.3L CPI Vortex V6. I have an upstream sensor I bought Saturday. I won't get into how come I got an upstream sensor. I just got a new one and I wondering if I need to take it back this sensor or if its the right one for the Bank 2 sensor 1 location. Thanks, JW

Both upstream sensors are the same! Will work on either side.
