I have taken this truck to to auto shops for a diagnostic test. Both shops came up with a code 43. It was explained to me that that was the electronic spark control module which is part of the knock sensor.
I have for 4 wks trying to get some answers. Is it the esc module or the knock sensor. No one seems to know. I have been told also that it could be caused by 3 possiblilities. Wiring, knock sensor unit or the oil sending unit. NO ONE seems to have an exact answer. There is confusion on the part and the part number. I have been dirivng this truck during all this time but am concerned that the service engine light is still on. PLEASE CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME AN ANSWER so I can get this truck repaired?

The three posibilities for code 43 are ESC bypass circuit, Knock sensor open or grounded, and 02 sensor reading rich. What driveability issues do you have? My money is on the 02 sensor, ever been changed? 50,000 is the recommend interval for your year 02 type!
