Truck has always run great till the starter went out. While replacing the starter it slipped and fell pulling the knock sensor wire which broke the pigtail connector. The kncok sensor on this truck is located right above the starter. Anyway since the pigtail was broken the truck downshifts into second gear, the brake light comes on and the speedometor jumps back and forth. This all happens at same time. I have had to shut the truck off for about 10 seconds then restart before it would drive normal again but it only last about a mile then happens again. We replaced the Knock sensor connector and the computer in the dash but it still does it. Any idea what happened when the connector broke and why it won't run right?

Check your battery, when the battery is low it screws up everything for the computer. Make sure your connections are clean, including the grounds. You might also check the harness by the starter as you you may have screwed something else up besides the knock sensor. It runs close to the manifold so it may have burned through someplace there.
