1985 Chevy S-10 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic lots miles

Will a 3.8 v 6 from a 1984 chevy impala innerchange with a 2.8 v 6 from a 1985 chevy s10 4x4 automatic. as I have a thrown rod bearing in the s10 and want to replace it with the 3.8
