I have a 2000 Blazer about 90K miles. The throttle pedal has been a little sticky lately. Nothing dangerous. I asked a mechanic and he said something about throttle plates? Does anyone know if I can fix this myself?

I'd put some oil on the cable were it connects the throttle body and see if that helped.

This is a common problem. A substance from the air intake duct (plastic) coats the outside of the throttle plate and causes it to stick in the closed position so it takes more pressure to use a little throttle. You can fix this by removing the air intake tube, cleaning the throttle plate with a rag soaked with a degreaser. I'd recommend cleaning the inside of the air duct coming from the air filter as well. This will reoccur about every 50,000 miles.
