I have a 1998 Chev Malibu, V6 90,000 kms. Had some issues with stalling and put it on a diagnositic machine, needed a crankshaft sensor. We bought the new sensor and tried to get the old one out. When trying to pull it out it broke off inside the block of the engine : So we tried drilling a small hole in the old sensor and put a screw in it to pull it out. It WILL NOT BUDGE . Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any help!

This has happened to me on an olds, I ended up selling the car before actually getting it out, but I knew that the problem was the o-ring was sticking. Try squirting some lubricant around it and let it sit over night so you know it had time to penetrate and try again. If this doesn't work you could try some acetone that will actually eat the o-ring enough to make it slimey. Don't forget to change the oil when your done.

Thanks, :) I put some lubricant on it today. Will give it another try tomorrow, if that doesn't work I will give the acetone a try.
