I HAVE A 1996 CHEVY LUMINA 3.1 V6. 112,000 MILES ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. MY OB11 CODE READER SAID CODE P401, INSUFFICIANT AIR FLOW.
I HAVE REPLACED THE ELECTRONOC EGR VALVE WITH A NEW ONE BUT ENGINE LIGHT STILL COMES ON. WHAT ELSE COULD IT BE?

Hey R&S
Sounds like the passage in the intake is clogged w/ carbon build up. Not an easy one to clean but, your going to need carb cleaner, some small wire brushes and maybe even a coat hanger or two! Well maybe not the coat hangers. Let us know!

I noticed that wiith the egr valve plugged in but not bolted in place, the valve did not move when I acclelerate with the old valve, or the new egr valve.
ShoudnT the piston move up and down when you rev the engine. Also have checked the fuse for egr it is fine. What elso could it be not paking the valve/piston on egr not move
