Where are the pivot and adjustment bolts or bracket on a 1996 cavalier, 2.2 liter for alternator belt replacemnet? The repair manual says the adjustment bolts are the bolts in the slotted brackets. I can't find any slotted brackets.

I slipped the old belt off with screw driver to replace the alternator but can't get the new belt (seems smaller) or old belt back on.

120,000 miles on car.

Maybe it has a small tension pully that is froze? Sometimes that little pully freezes up and makes the belt squeel. I think spring loaded to keep belt tight.

Although I have points, I am no expert.
