A few weeks ago, I noticed that my coolant gauge was moving wildly but would never hit the RED Zone. It would only move up over the half mark while I was idling in heavy traffic. I took the car to the dealership and they changed the thermostat, said it was stuck open, and the serpentine belt, said coolant had leaked on it. Now, I am hearing this noise coming from underneath the dash board, sounds like a coffee pot is perculating or gurggling sound and the gauge is still moving erratically. I talked to a 'backyard" mechanic and he thinks the line has a air pocket and it was not properly bled or that they system needs to be flushed. Can you guys give me your thoughts on this noise and what I should do. Thanks.
