1996 Chevy Monte Carlo 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My check engine light comes on and off.(3 days on, 3 days off)What I do notice is that the light comes on when Im idling. Could this be a misfire and easily solved with new plugs and wires? Please help

Right now what you need to do is to take your car to autozone and get them to retrieve the trouble codes for you (free). Post back with the codes and someone on here should be able to help you.
Without the codes we're just shooting in the dark.
