When I wash under the hood and the engine compartment the car runs very rough and seems to miss for a few days afterwards, is there anyway to fix this?

When was the last time u have replaced plugs wires and distributor cap?

I would try to get all of them replaced and going from their, and an easy way to find out if it works, wash it again. But dont soak the plugs and wires u could cause damage.
