The cannister is near the fuel tank on that one I believe, is there a check engine light on at all?

IF so what codes?

A fuel smell can be from a rich condition also, is the tail pipe black on the inside?

There is no light on at all. The smell comes through the air vent when the heat or AC is on and the air is coming from the out side. What is a rich condition I think my taipipe is black on the inside!

A rich condition is when your car has a higher fuel to air mixture. My guess is your gas milaige is down also.

You "think" the tailpipe is black on the inside? :?

The black is carbon.

What mileage were the spark plugs, ignition wires last changed? and what brands.

Hold the air filter up to the light,
Does it look like this:

or this:

HAs the intake valves and throttle bore been cleaned?

How does it run other wise? Possible converter starting to plug?
