Brakes problem
2007 Chevy Malibu 4 cyl Automatic 68,000 miles

I recently had new brake pads put on and my rotors resurfaced. I had felt shaking when I pushed the brakes and taken my car back to the auto mechanic and he stated that they could have been to hot when it rained and warped and that he would resurface them again for free. After that the brakes were fine for a few days then my car started shaking again. It mostly when I stop going at speeds over 35 once I slow to 35 it stops shaking. My car did not shake before having them resurfaced my brake pads were thin and I could tell that, but there was no shaking until after I had taken them to the mechanic. I am wondering if it is something he did or what the problem could be so that I can address it and get it taken care of.

Your rotors will need to be replaced, if machining the rotors cures the problem short term but the comes back there is an issue with them, they may be too thin or may be porus and rush spots may be developing in msall hole in rotors, either way replace them.

Well my car didn't shake before the mechanic resurfaced them, I needed new brake pads and I guess when you get them changed they say to resurface them and ever since he did resurface them my car shakes NEVER did my car shake until the rotors were messed with in the first place. I had even went to several different mechanics and they all said my rotors were fine UNTIL I got them resurfaced and now my car shakes.

Are these standard rotors or are they slotted?
