wHERE IS THERMOSTAT ON THE 3.1 V6?

Follow upper radiator hose to engine block.
The hose connects to the engine at the thermostat housing. The thermostat is inside the housing.
I suggest you buy a Haynes/Chilton manual to help you replacing it. You can find used ones for dirt cheap.
