Earlier this morning I was on my way home from work, and I was turning a corner. The next thing I know there was a loud clunking noise coming from the front passenger side wheel well. First thing I did was check the cv halfshaft to see if it would move and it didn't. Now its making me think there is something wrong in the tranny. It bangs while either driving, or being pushed. Needless to say I drove it about 200 feet and parked it. What else could it possibly be?

Apv or car?

Jack up the front end and turn the wheels by hand. Does this noise happen. IF so should be much easier to locate the source. Gut feel is an axle, but gut feel might be wrong.

You can shake down the front end while it's up as well.
