I have a 2001 cheverlet Impala 3.8L with 133,000 miles. I have for the past year have had my battery indicater light flash on and off, a constat clicking noise under my dash that also causes my dash and radio displays to flicker. My radio display, dash lights, and my daytime running lights will dim then brighten. I have checked my alternater and have changed it 5 times. Please help, the dinging and clicking are starting to drive me mad and I don't have the money to take it to the mechanic who said just to check the system will cost $40 an hour.

To run tests on your car for $40 an hour is cheap.

But the problem you are having sounds like a body control module going out. That is why all the lights an buzzing noises are going on. I have replaced several for complaints similar to yours. Another thing I would check is the fuse block under the hood. Make sure all connection are clean and tight.
