My 2003 chevy imapla 3.4 will not go passed 20 on some daya and some days will go up to 70. Had transmision service was told that it is going bad 3 weeks ago check engine light came on had it read and egr code came up. Do you think it is a bad transmsission

It will rev up but wont go but I read someone else had the sma problem with the egr code comoing up and it was a bad catalyst converter

Use a vacuum gauge and check the vacuum on the car with it at idle and at 1500rpm
If its low u may have a converter issue s
Put the Way I m reading it that as you are driving RPM will go up (engine rev up) but the car not moving with the engine speed you have transmission problem
