I just re-built my 1965 396 Big Block. I am having problems getting it started, or for that matter getting it to back fire? I think I have the valves all hosed up. I have ripped the the timing chain cover off and checked the the cam/crank alignment and all is good. All though I may have it 180 deg. Out, but that s an easy fix.
What I really need is a indepth (for a moron to understand) system to set my valves(hyd) cold. So that I can get this PIG started. I would appreciate any, and all information I can get.
Thank you in advance.

Thank you,
I Re-adjusted everything last night, and still can't get the pig to fire? I have fuel, spark, and compression?

It happend to me with my 396! My rockers were just a little to tight believe or not I just loosed them a lil and started it with no valve covers! I adjustem them whil it was running! They tick and you just tight them until the point they just stop ticking!

Might not be your problem but I remember I search every thing and some one told me this and it started like a charm!
